American Slave trade Map

Slave trade map

Last week, we learned about the triangular slave and what happened to the people in South Africa who were taken and chained to ships. We started by talking about how Americans treat Americans when they are forced to be taken from their homes and sold into slavery. They were exchanged for goods and chained to each other and to the floorboards of the boats. They are very close and malnutrition causes the death of some of them. They were not released so if they died the people next to them were waiting there with a dead person next to them praying that they did not die there next door. Here is my Slave Triangle map with lots of information on the topic.
Here is the link to see the work that i did on My map

Music was used by slaves to tell stories, keep them motivated and let them know when the path was clear to escape. Dance and music are used in rituals and religious ceremonies.

Here is an example of the African music

  3. Dear Jay-C your blog post was very intressting and informative. I liked your explanation of the slave trade triangle it'upsetting and wrong to learn more about how Americans treating the African community and how the africans where taken from there homes and loved ones to be brought by the American and becomes slaves. I also enjoyed how you explained the mistreatment and inhumane conditions the african cummonity was put through when they where forced to be trapped under the floorbored of the hot boat chanied together. It must of been sad when one of there friends died next to them. Thank you for including the slave triangle into your post as a link so I can see more of your work. I didn't know that africans in that time of history used music to communicate to one and another. Lastly it is helpful that you put a picture and a link to the music they sang. You did a great good so I don't really know what improvments you need. Serriously great job.
